About

My name is Brad Zweerink and I’m an award winning photographer with more than fifteen years of newspaper and wedding photojournalism experience. Actually, I was given my first camera more than twenty years ago as a kid in Missouri and it’s the only job I’ve ever had (if you don’t count a bread route for my uncle John or a brief stint as a Victoria’s Secret stock boy (true!)). I got my degree in photojournalism from the University of Missouri just to make it official and have never looked back.

The best part about being a newspaper photographer is that you get to meet great people and photograph them experiencing important moments in their lives. It’s the same thing I love about photographing weddings. It’s about getting to know people, sharing experiences and capturing all of that in pictures.

My experience as a documentary photojournalist informs every picture I make. I am unobtrusive and capture the moments that tell the story of an event. My portraiture captures the faces and places that make each person special. My goal is to show what the day felt like, not just what it looked like. That way, when you look at your pictures ten, twenty or fifty years from now, you will remember exactly how great your wedding really was.
